Wither The Experts?
The author questions the credibility of scientific “experts” and shifting public health guidance during COVID-19, arguing that inconsistent advice, political influence, and emotional reasoning have undermined trust in science and authority.
Over the past 21 months, we have been admonished to “follow the science”, and heed the advice of “experts”. However, it has become obvious, to me at least, that the average American has no knowledge of science, and the experts are anything but.
In fact, if you truly follow the science of biology, and declare an individual having XX chromosomes is female and one having XY chromosomes is male, you run the risk of cancellation because someone has the “right” to determine their biological sex, and their feelings take precedence over the actual settled science. Once feelings come into play, it is no longer science.
As for heeding the advice of “experts”, please tell me which experts that would be.
Is it the “experts” who had developed “models” that initially predicted millions of people in the US would die? The models have been proved wrong.
Is it the “experts” who initially said that masks were ineffective against COVID? Or the ones who told us to wear a mask because it was the right thing to do. The opinion changed as the political winds shifted.
